How To Write An Apology Letter For Late Payment

  • By | Comments Off

Apology is the best way of expressing one’s regret for not meeting their obligations when they were supposed to do so. An apology letter for late payment is a written expression of regret for failing to pay an obligation when due as expected by the second party.

The essence of an apology letter is to let the leader know of your unintentional inability to pay your dues and that you are not trying to avoid the obligation.

This letter restores the relationship between the borrower and the lender which may have been jeopardized by the late payment. It becomes a very significant aspect in business and should not be disregarded or ignored.

An apology letter also explains the reasons why the payment was late and the creditors tend to believe their debtors if they keep communicating instead of cutting communication completely.

Below is a sample of an apology letter for late payment.

    Dear Mr. Daniel,

A to Z Manufacturing is sincerely sorry for not being able to pay its annual lease in the amount of $20,000. We were doing everything to meet our necessary expenditures but our operations have been affected greatly by the recent fire outbreak in our premises.

We are aware of our obligation but we really could not make the payment on time. It will be highly appreciated if you could extend the period during which we can pay our annual lease.

For a period of ten years, we have showed that A to Z Manufacturing is a good payer and a trustworthy customer. It so happened that now we are trying to be back on our feet after that fateful disaster.

Please accept our apology for any inconvenience our company has caused you. Thank you for your understanding and we do pray for your consideration in this regard.

    Yours Sincerely,
    Peterson Filipenko
    Head of Financial Department
